Chaos Summoning: The Chaos Summoner may summon a beast/demon from the Edge of Limbo that possesses a number of Aspects up to his Chaos Summoner level + Int. The summoner must expend a spell slot to summon a beast/demon but may do so spontaneously, without prior preparation. However, the summoner may only actively choose a number of Aspects possessed by the beast/demon he seeks equal to the spell level sacrificed (0-level slots may not be used). All other Aspects, up to the summoner’s possible total, are selected at random or by the GM.
When the beast/demon initially appears it is not under the control of the summoner and should always be summoned into a Magic Circle Against Chaos. Once summoned, it is up to the summoner to bargain with the beast/demon in order to obtain the desired service from it.
Summoning Time - It requires 10 min per spell level used to summon a beast/demon.
Prepared Summoning: The summoner may, through research, discover specific chaos beasts/demons to summon. These are prepared as normal spells and take up a spell slot equal to the number of aspects chosen by the summoner. A beast which has 4 Aspects, but of which the summoner only selected 1 (letting the other 3 be chosen at random or by the GM) takes a 1st level spell slot. 0-level spell slots may not be used for prepared summoning.
When summoned in this way, a beast/demon is immediately under the summoner’s command and must do as instructed.
Duration? May benefit from Summoner’s Charm (Su.).
Invoke: At level 5 the summoner may choose to Invoke any beast/demon he has specifically learned to summon and prepared the spell for. When a beast/demon is Invoked, the summoner conjures them into himself, gaining the spell level in number of Aspects as powers for himself. He may select any of the available Aspects of the beast/demon and, once per round as a Standard Action, may engage in a contest of wills with the beast/demon to change which Aspects are active.
If the summoner wins by 10 or more, it can be considered a Swift Action instead. If it is a tie, then the summoner spends a full round wrestling with the beast/demon instead. If he fails, the beast/demon flees back to Limbo but if he fails by 10 or more, the beast/demon escapes onto the Prime Material, dealing 1 damage to the summoner per spell level and becoming autonomous.
May benefit from Summoner’s Charm (Su.).
Ward Pact: At level 7 the summoner may perform a Chaos Summoning and bind the beast/demon into a specific area as a guardian with specific instructions. The ward lasts for 1 day per caster level. May benefit from Summoner’s Charm (Su.).
Chaos Binding: At level 10, the summoner may perform a Chaos Summoning but into a specific object, permanently binding the beast/demon into the object to perform the task given it at the time of summoning. No bargaining is required. If the bound object is ever broken, the beast/demon is released.
